  • My name is Eli. I’m 22 years old. I graduated from Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism. Being an energetic person and having a strong passion about traveling, I have oriented to be a tour guide since I was young. My rules at work are always: Be flexible, professional, and have cultural understanding. I enjoy sharing and being around different types of people.

I have officially workedfor over 2 years at Vietgo Travel where I learnt a lot. I was in charge of several tasks such as making sure all of the necessary documentation ready for the tour, giving the passengers the complimentary tickets and solving problems concerning poor service, compensation, and customers’ satisfaction.

Besides, during my university time, I have attended some volunteer groups whose journeys to some famous places and everyone organized a couple of activities together. Working in Tourism makes me extremely energetic because I really love traveling, and doing things with others.

If there are problems with fussy customers, I will follow these steps: Firstly, I will wait for the customers to show their problems. Even they are wrong or not, I will listen carefully to them. By doing so, they will have the feeling of being respected which is extremely important. Secondly, I need to stay calm by letting them say what they are angry at, and try to expss my sympathy and understanding. In case the customers start to yell at me, I must not be aggressive, no matter what they do wrongly or correctly, I should wait until they want to stop saying and want to listen to my explanation. Finally, I need to show what I am doing is to deal with their problems, to help them, then say sorry to make them feel better. Explain to them carefully and in the most polite way. If necessary, I will give a complimentary which can comfort them and make sure my company’s service will be better next time. Last but not least, a thank letter is indispensable to keep a good relationship with these customers.

I hope to become a high-experienced tour guide in the next 3 years. I am ready to work to the fullest to gain the excellent communication skills. I will practice my ability to psent information in an interesting way, to remember facts, events, and ps. The most important thing is I want to get more experience so that I could work for a tour operator as a regional tour supervisor or manager.

Eli: Words cannot expss my feeling. I took care of a group from Australia and honestly cannot show how nice they were. They truly appciated my support for their group during the trip.

Mary: It's glad to hear that, Eli. Two days ago, I also went to Sa Pa with a group from France, they were friendly. Being tour guides like us, the happiest thing at work is that tourists are happy and they have a great time in our country.

Eli: That's right. I always think that we will play the role of a ambassador who gives visitors information to help them experience and enjoy the culture and beauty of our country.

Eli: Yes. You should keep your eyes open for enjoying the breathtaking scenes to your west and east on the way. There will be a lot of mountains, trees, and paddy fields at two sides of the road. We are having lunch at 12:00, and then take a short break. At 3 p.m. we are visiting Linh Ung Pagoda - a famous temple in Da Nang. The most expected moment is swimming time at 5 p.m. at My Khe beach. Certainly everyone will have a lot of fun there. At 7 p.m. we are having a traditional dinner and then take a stroll around the city.
